2007-08-08 7:12 PM At a time when the Ombudsman of Ontario has been fighting for jurisdiction over Children's Aid Societies across the province for the purpose of increasing accountability for the services they provide, John Dunn, a former foster child and child-welfare reform advocate, laid charges against the Children's Aid Society of Ottawa and its Executive Director on Wednesday, (August, 8th, 2007) for knowingly and willfully committing the Offence of contravening section 307 (5) of Ontario's Corporations Act.

2007-06-26 8:35 AM American environment groups are offering to help defray some of the travels costs for qualified Canadians who want to attend the debut of Boreal Chamber Symphony orchestra in Marquette, MI on Lake Superior Day - July 15, 2007.
The concert is free but all donations go to the Lake Superior Defense Fund.
Organizers are hoping Canadian cities around Lake Suiperior will host similar events each Lake Superior Day to raise money to protect the largest freshwater lake in North America.
The goal is to inspire Canadians groups, musicians, and local governments to start similar proects that will create a ring of protection around Lake Superior.
The event is sponsored by the Superior Watershed Partnership and Cedar Tree Institute, Marquette non-profits that founded the Earth Keeper Initiative in 2004.
Donors include the Marquette Community Foundation.

 The Canadian Government has given $102,500 of tax-payers' money to the Thunder Bay CEDC to 'hire a consulting company' to help local firms secure sub-contracting jobs connected with the Alberta oilsands development. The only problem is that this is exactly what recently hired CEDC CEO Steve Demmings is already being paid to do but hasn't done. (image/jpeg)

The only way it would be possible is if those jobs actually did exist and people didn't mind working 96 to 105 hours per week (I guess sleeping is optional)! Does this guy think we're stupid or what?
